Navy Federal Credit Union Offers

First off in order to join the credit union, you have to be a associated with the military someway. Whether its active duty, guard, reserve, retiree, dependent, etc... Well I guess its Military appreciation month and they have a couple great offers. First, yesterday I opened up a 1 year CD that they're offering paying 3.5% with a 5,000 max. Last year I took advantage of another 1 year offering that was paying 3%

Second, if you do want to join they are offering $50 to join for you and the person who referred you. If anyone reading this do decide to join and doesn't mind using me as a referral that was would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me for my personal info.

Lastly, once you're a member you can apply for their cashreward visa card where they are offering $100 reward for spending $1500 in the first 90 days.

If you do decide to join, make sure you read the fine print about the requirements. The below are the requirements about the CD

"Limit one Military Appreciation Certificate per member. The Military Appreciation Certificate has a $25 minimum balance and a $5,000 maximum balance. Additional deposits are allowed at any time. To maintain the special offering rate for the 12-month term, certificate owner(s) age 18 and older must have Direct Deposit of Net Pay, minimum $300 per Direct Deposit (excluding allotments) and a Navy Federal Active Duty Checking Account within 90 days of the certificate issue date. If these requirements have not been satisfied by the 90th day, your Military Appreciation Certificate dividend rate will be reduced to the prevailing dividend rate of a standard EasyStart Certificate for the remainder of the certificate's term."

Direct deposit always gets me. I don't like to mess with our main bank account. Can it just be some of the pay? It doesn't seem like it since it states NET pay.

I know for the CD it says 300 minimum of net pay so u don't have to do total direct deposit. You may want to call about the checking to double check. I've always gotten prompt service when I call.
