TracFone

September 7th, 2013 at 03:18 am

Has anyone every used the prepaid cell phone service? If so did u experience any problems. I'm looking at ways to cut my cell phone bill. Tonight on HSN I noticed that that had a special for an LG smartphone with TracFone. It comes with 1400 minutes that's good for a year, triple the minutes for lifetime after that, phone cover and car charger all for $79 and free shipping. The other good thing is that I get to keep my current #. I'm going to look back through my old bills and average up my minutes. Going this route could possibly save me over $100 a month the first year if can stretch 1400 minutes.

My cell phone (not smartphone) is from Net10. I've been on it for 4 years. It works for me - I'm not much of a yakker so I've never run out of time & had to buy additional time. I can also text, follow and receive texts - those are 1/2 minute each. About the only issue I have with it is that adding minutes from the website can be difficult.

I think $80/yr would be hard to beat! Smile
CeeJay and her family use prepaid phones and it looks to me like it works great for her. Maybe check out her posts about it.

I use Ting and have saved a bundle all while being able to move up from a flip phone to a smart phone. If you go with Ting I have a $25 off coupon code on my page.

We've had TracFone prepaid for years. It works well for us.

I have a trac phone. It works OK. I received a similar deal last year from HSN ($99 for 1400 min and triple minutes on future purchases). In July, I purchased additional minutes (1450 for $99). It cut my old cell phone plan in half. I only text and talk. The LG phone reception is OK but the faceplate is sensitive. I can only text and talk. I'm supposed to be able to access wifi and send and receive photos but haven't been able to figure it out and their website is useless.
I need to call but I don't want to use up my minutes. Another pitfall is you can't see who is calling until you "accept" the call.

I will use it until a better option comes along.
